WHAT IS THE COLD MOUNTAIN MUSIC FESTIVAL?

The Cold Mountain Music Festival is an annual event benefiting Lake Logan‘s Retreat Center, Camp Henry, and the Outdoor School.

Cold Mountain Music Festival features top-notch musical talent, amazing local food & drink vendors, family-friendly activities, and more – all in one of the most pristine settings imaginable! Enjoy a hike into the Shining Rock Wilderness, soak in some bald eagle spotting by the West Fork of the Pigeon River, or go for a boat ride or swim in the pristine waters of Lake Logan. Gates open at 10am on Friday and 9am on Saturday. Come on and join the fun!

WHAT DOES MY TICKET COVER?

Weekend passes cover entry to the festival when gates open. One weekend ticket encompasses all the music and events Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – yoga, hiking, paddleboard tours, kids’ zone, and eco-tours. You will need to cover costs for vendors, food trucks, and lodging. Day passes for Friday and Saturday are now available – gates open at 10am on Friday and 9am on Saturday!

Lake Logan is located approximately 30 miles West of Asheville in Haywood County. All are welcome to this special place, where the power of nature’s bounty nourishes, restores, and rejuvenates. Our 300-acre campus lies within the Great Balsam Mountains range, is adjacent to the Shining Rock Wilderness, and features mile-long Lake Logan and the West Fork of the Pigeon River. Our valley home offers both forested and open land, a wide array of historic buildings, cabins, camp-style dorms, meeting and event spaces, primitive campsites, an alpine tower, and scenic trails that venture into the national forest. The Retreat Center is open year-round to host all types of events, groups, and individuals for retreat, rest, renewal, and recreation.

The lake is surrounded by forested and open land, a wide array of historic buildings with 88 cabin beds and 96 dorm-style beds, plenty of places to gather indoors and out, and various primitive campsites. All are welcome to this sacred space, where the power of nature’s bounty nourishes, restores, and rejuvenates.

WHEN AND HOW CAN I BUY TICKETS?

Tickets may be purchased online HERE. Early bird tickets go on sale January 15. A limited number of walk-up tickets may be available for same-day purchase. Campsites and cabins go fast, so pick up your tickets today!

CAN I COMMUNICATE WITH THE OUTSIDE WORLD ONCE I GET TO LAKE LOGAN?

Lake Logan does have cell phone and wifi service. Based on our remote location reception and connection may be finicky at times. Please plan to have a wonderful UNPLUGGED weekend at Cold Mountain Music Festival. We promise it’s one of the best parts.

IS CAMPING PERMITTED?

Yes! Learn more about festival campsites HERE. You can purchase your camp site when you purchase your ticket. Sites sell out so get yours early! Campsites are purchased by the party – so any passholder is welcome to stay to camp with you once you pay for the site. 

CAN I BRING MY RV?

A limited number of sites are available for your RV (30 feet and under). You’ll be able to purchase your RV site when you purchase your tickets. These will sell out quickly, so make plans to snag yours early. Learn more about RV campsite options HERE.

IS HOUSING AVAILABLE?

Lake Logan has beautiful, historic cabins for rent as well as hostel-style bunkhouse accommodations. Festival cabins are sold as a Boojum’s Pass VIP package and sell out fast! You may reserve bunkhouse accomodations when you purchase your festival ticket on Ticketstripe.

IS THERE A SHUTTLE?

Yes. We are happy to shuttle folks who can use a bit of extra assistance from the parking area to the main festival area. 

WILL THE FESTIVAL HAVE FOOD AND BEVERAGES?

Yes. We will host several delicious food trucks along with beer and wine vendors. Please, no outside food or beverages. We want to support our awesome local WNC vendors! Please note: Folks who have purchased a camp site may bring food that stays in the camping area. 
A hot breakfast buffet is offered on Saturday and Sunday at the Lake Logan dining hall. Breakfast tickets may be purchased when you purchase your festival tickets online.

CAN I GET ONE OF THOSE AWESOME FESTIVAL T-SHIRTS?

Cold Mountain Music t-shirts and other awesome Lake Logan, Camp Henry and Outdoor School swag will be available for purchase at the merch tent throughout the Festival weekend.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

We encourage folks to bring CASH for vendors in case wifi reception become spotty. Feel free to bring lawn chairs, picnic blankets, sunscreen, sturdy shoes sufficient for outdoor terrain, and your bathing suit and towel if ya fancy a dip in the lake!

WHAT SHOULD I LEAVE AT HOME?

No outside food or beverages (except water), no fireworks, no weapons. Exception: Those who have purchased a camping site may bring food. Please leave all outside food it in the camping area.

Pop-up tents are permitted in the camping areas but NOT in the main festival area / front of the stage). We want everyone to have an awesome view of our super fun line-up!

ARE KIDS PERMITTED?

YES! This is a family-friendly event. Kids ages 11 and younger get in free! There will be plenty of family-friendly activities led by our Camp Henry staff and volunteers. Children 12 and under should not be left unattended.

HOW ABOUT PETS?

Yes, your well-behaved dog is welcome at Lake Logan. There is a pet fee of $40 per dog.  You are responsible for the behavior of and cleaning up after your pet. Dogs must remain on-leash. We reserve the right to require you to remove your pet from the property if there are any issues of disruptive behavior, failing to clean-up after your pet, etc. 

ARE OUTSIDE FOOD AND DRINKS ALLOWED?

Only water is allowed to be brought in. We have excellent local food and beverage vendors to be enjoyed and supported throughout our time together.

WHAT ABOUT PARKING?

Parking is free and available a short walk away from the main festival area. Based on damage sustained from Hurricane Helene parking is limited. Please plan to carpool. Thank you so much in advance!

WHAT TIME DO THE GATES OPEN?

Gates open at 10am on Friday and 9am on Saturday. 

CAN I BRING MY BOAT OR PADDLEBOARD?

You may bring your own kayak or stand-up paddle board, but please know that we have ample canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards available to use at no cost! If you do bring a your own kayak or SUP, make sure to use the boat washing station by the boat house prior to putting your watercraft in the Lake. The Pigeon River and Lake Logan are pristine waterways that we work hard to keep protected from invasive species. We encourage you to hit the easy button and hop on a Lake Logan boat for your Festival float;)!

CAN I FISH AT THE FESTIVAL?

Yes, you may fish in the lake only. Haywood Waterways will be leading activities throughout the festival in the river.
For all fishing, we ask that you abide by these policies:

• A valid NC fishing license is required.
• Lake Logan waters are catch-and-release only.
• No live bait.
• Single hook only.
• A life vest must be worn at all times by occupants of a boat.
• Do not cross orange boundary markers.
• Fishing, boating, and swimming are done at your own risk.

MY PLANS CHANGED. CAN I GET A REFUND ON MY TICKETS?

We do NOT issue refunds. We hope you’ll give your tickets to a friend who can enjoy the festival.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?

Bring an umbrella. The Festival will go on, rain or shine. There will be no refunds.

HOW ABOUT TRANSFERRING MY TICKETS TO SOMEONE ELSE?

Yes, you can do that. Email the details to Jen and copy the person you are transferring your ticket to.

HOW CAN I VOLUNTEER AT THE FESTIVAL?

Festival volunteers help in various areas like set-up, ticket sales, token sales, waterfront support, parking, green team and more. All volunteers receive a free Festival general admission ticket and Festival t-shirt. Volunteers are responsible for their own vendor food and alcohol purchases at the Festival. Most shifts are 4 hours, and late night shifts on Friday and Saturday are 3.5 hours. All volunteers are required to check-in upon arrival at the Volunteer Tent for a brief orientation and to pick-up your Festival t-shirt.
